the competition deadlines for the BASS2010 Solo Competition, the BASS2010 Audition Competition and the BASS2010 Jazz Competition have all been extended to 31. July 2010.

Make sure you register and send in your life recording by this new date – if selected for the semifinals in Berlin you will be notified by 31. August 2010.

Its chairman, Professor Greg Cohen from the Jazz Institut Berlin, is ready to receive your applications. Please be aware that the deadline for sending in your qualification CD is rather soon: June 15, 2010.

Apart from the opportunity to meet many like-minded people at the competition and the convention, there are attractive prizes to be won – not only a double bass by Björn Stoll worth about 8000 Euros, but also 2000 Euros in cash and a Contra SII amplifier.

as of today we are introducing our pricing: registration for BASS2010 is now possible here on this site!

In order to attend the congress, you will need to register and buy a ticket, which are available at moderate prices (between 10 – 18 Euros depending on the time of booking), 50% off for students. Tickets are valid for the entire convention and allow entry to all the different activities – presentations, recitals, concerts, masterclass – as well to the exhibition area.

Register and buy your tickets now until 30. June 2010 and catch the early bird rate for 10 (5) Euros!

We hope you had a good start to this exciting new year, for which we are wishing you all the best. The BASS2010-Team is working hard and pulling the strings to substantiate the different processes involved in the organization of this big event.

In the meantime, the guidelines for the BASS2010 Solo Competition and the BASS2010 Youth Competition have been worked out. You can find all information on who can enter and how to register here. Very shortly a Pay-Pal-system will be set up, too, which allows you to pay registration fees comfortably online.

We are also currently negotiating discounted rates for BASS2010 guests with different hotels in Berlin. As soon as we can, we will inform you about the results and you will be able to find our recommendations for accommodation also on this website.

As some details with regards to the exact time schedule and program have not finally been decided upon, the information on this website will continually grow in the upcoming weeks and months.
